Friday Crush Update

Hello. The clock is ticking down to the Crush on Friday night. First off, answers to the questions of Where? and What (we doin')?. These are links off the Bacchus site at bacchuswinemakingclub.com
Sorry that some of you won't be able to make it. Crush scheduling is grape-picking dependent and always a last-minute deal. At least it is an off night for the Red Sox fans. However, from what I hear, those of you who can't make it have some good reasons, like an appointments with Dr. Springsteen (Charmaine & Frank) and da Bard of Ashland (Kathy).

Lastly, the two sayings go like this: it takes a lot of beer to make a good wine and think global, drink local! So I'd like to point out a possible post-crush destination: Beer Friday at the Devil's Canyon Brewery in nearby industrial Belmont. I've been threatening to go there for many months, but it has never quite worked out. Will this time be the time?Cheers all,
D

The Crush is a Foot! Friday Night Edition.

Hello again. The results are in and Friday night at 8 PM is the winner.
Please RSVP at murphy.dennis@gmail.com. The later start means that we'll all get a chance to have dinner beforehand. Apres dinner beer, wine, water, snacks, dessert up to you.
Be sure to dress in clothes that can stand a bit of grape sloshing. The workload is not too tough. More crush info here.

Grapes Finally Arriving for Crush

Hello All. Just when you think it safe, the phone rings. The Sangiovese grapes were just picked and are heading our way via refrigerated trailer. There are three time slots available and I need a fast vote by ranking 1-2-3. I reserved Friday night at 8 PM as a defensive as a placeholder. Let me know as soon as you can.

The choices for crush:
  • Thursday, 10/25 @ 5:30PM
  • Thursday, 10/25 @ 7:00PM
  • Friday, 10/26 @ 8:00PM
Vote now. I need to get back to them tomorrow morn.

Super Super Tuscan Time

Hello All. Sorry for the news blackout of late. We are awaiting word on the Amador County Sangiovese crush schedule. Should hear any day. Combined with Cabernet and Syrah, it will comprise a nice blend in the "Super Tuscan" style for our 2007 vintage. The nice thing will be the tasting and blending decisions at future racking events. We'll get to tune and fine tune the blend.

So anyway, I'd say "hold the date" but I don't know which one. I'll let you know as soon as I do.
