It Don't Come Easy...Fall Harvest Festival News

Hello. If you read the Bacchus Harvest Fest email that circulated, you'll see some not-so-fine print about free admission for Wine Club Members and $25 for guests and general public.

Last year we finagled out of fees for our large, 20+ brood, but I was informed that by Wine Club Members, they mean 2 people, not 20. Our magically merry troupe is certainly charming, fun, friendly, good-looking, etc., but that does only go sooo far.

The result, after negotiations with Domenic, is a compromise: $10 a head for tomorrow night's event, which you can see is a substantial discount. They will bill us (actually, me) later. We'll work it out later as well. I have some idea where you all live.

So, I'd like to get another round of RSVP-in' going, now that we know there's no free fest. Use my (Dennis Murphy) name at the door. If it looks like you're going to have to fight your way in or something, call 408-930-5744 (my cell) first.

Anyway, see you tomorrow. I'm sure we'll make out on the deal.

Gettin' on Harvest Time

Hello all. Great time last Friday night. We came, we ate, we drank, we bottled. While the '06 Syrah sits in the bottle, it is time to think about 2007. Two points to make:
  • We have paid commitments for 10 of the 12 cases. We need two more case takers. Please ask around and recruit more souls to the wine coven.
  • There is a tasting/varietal selection /party at Bacchus on Thursday, August 16th. It was a lot of fun last year and actually educational as you get a taste and a sense of what different vineyards are producing. We'll need to figure out what we're going to go for.
